In the weeks that saw both Darwen Live and the Adidas Spezials Showcase hit our local streets, we have had a couple of very busy and exciting weeks at Shaw’s.
Last week we had a busy week consigning items and getting our 5th monthly catalogue live. We knew we had a really great auction this time, but wow!
Within our first couple of hours of the catalogue going live, a 17th century Jaques of London Chess and Droughts Set that we had consigned from one of our wonderful vendors had gone from a starting bid of £24 to an astonishing £1,300! You may have been a part of the action yesterday, but in case you missed it we are so happy to say that this hammered at 10 times that amount at a whopping £13,000. We are so pleased for our vendor, who initially thought they may get £10 for the set! You can read about their story here: https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/24353692.chess-set-expected-sell-thousands-blackburn-auction/
Our 5th auction also included a Specialised Toy Auction which was a great success! It featured a mixture of action figures, comics, film memorabilia and other amazing toys. A huge thanks again to our phenomenal vendors- we wouldn’t be where we are today without you and your trust in us.
Other items in our auction today also saw some great results! Jewellery, Steiff teddies, Lladro Nao, and alcohol to name but a few. We are pleased to say that this was, again, our biggest auction yet. Our great thanks as always go out to our fabulous vendors and buyers! You are the reason we can keep doing the work we love, so thank you.
Looking now to our next auction on the 30th June, if you are interested in consigning any items to auction yourself please do get in touch and we can arrange face to face meetings at your convenience, even at your residence if that works better for you. We also offer free no-obligation valuations as a part of our service, just send us a message with photographs of your items through our social media, via our website or through email enquiries@shawsauctionhouse.co.uk
Many thanks,
Callum and the Shaw’s team
