Sunday 9th June.

Yet another busy week at Shaw’s Auction House!

This week at Shaw’s we have been busy with shipping and collections following last Sunday’s auction. Thank you again to all of our wonderful buyers and vendors.

We have been supporting some wonderful families to navigate the complicated and often challenging process of house clearances this week and are helping them to find new homes for their departed loved ones’ items so that they can be loved once more. We love being the bridge between the old and new owners of antiques and collectible items. Seeing the excitement of the new owner finding a new  piece to add to their collection and getting to see the previous owner make some money and see the item being loved again is truly a win-win and we love to be able to facilitate and share in that joy. If you or someone you know is in a position where they might need a little guidance on their options for full or partial house clearances, please feel free to contact us and we can give free advice and support.

We have also seen some exciting consignments come in this week ready for our Auction which we have scheduled for the 7th July at 11am. This includes a beautiful Victorian Walnut Davenport writing desk with stunning detailing and a collection of porcelain dolls.

We at Shaw’s have also been working with Darwen Heritage Centre to arrange a Valuation Day. Valuation Days are a great way to find out an estimate on your items to find out what the items might receive at auction. This is a free, no-obligation service that we provide – you may wish to consign your items with us when you visit us at the Heritage Centre if you would like but this is entirely optional. We will be there from 10am until 2pm on the 17th July – come down and say hello!

We also featured again in the Lancashire Telegraph following the sale of the Jaques of London Chess Set https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/24362099.historic-chess-set-sells-13k-blackburn-auction/ and were contacted for comment in another exciting popular Antique Trade Gazette which we will hopefully be able to share with you in next week’s post – stay tuned!

There is still time to consign items into our next auction. Contact us via our website, social media, email us on enquiries@shawsauctionhouse.co.uk or give us a call on 01254 492325 to have a chat with one of the team and we will help with anything you need.

We hope you all have a wonderful week!

Many thanks,

Callum and the Shaw’s team
